An interior design and decoration project in which distribution, materials and small details come together to completely transform a space without losing its essence.<\/em><\/p>\n

When a space needs more than a makeover<\/h3>\n

When we started working on Antojicos, the goal wasn\u2019t simply to change the colours or decorate a caf\u00e9.\n\nWe needed to make the space work better, increase its storage capacity and, at the same time, give it an identity of its own.<\/p>\n

The inspiration came from a Parisian-style caf\u00e9, warm and welcoming, but we wanted to take it in a more personal direction, combining that character with natural materials, wood and a palette of soft tones.<\/p>\n

The transformation started from the very foundations of the space.<\/p>\n

Creating a new atmosphere through materials<\/h3>\n

One of the elements that gives the finished space much of its personality is the wood panelling.<\/p>\n

We used pine wood to create the wall panelling and also to build different bespoke storage solutions.<\/p>\n

The wood was treated using a washed-paint technique, looking for an imperfect, natural finish that would bring the vintage touch we wanted to achieve.<\/p>\n

The dusty green tone became one of the key elements of the project, combined with sandy tones and wooden details.<\/p>\n

The intention was to create a pleasant, bright space with character, without making it feel overly new or artificial.<\/p>\n

Design is also about finding solutions<\/h3>\n

In a small space, every centimetre counts.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why part of the project involved finding new possibilities for existing elements and creating storage solutions that would keep everything organised without compromising the aesthetics.<\/p>\n

The shelving was designed and adapted around the caf\u00e9\u2019s real needs and the way the space would actually be used.<\/p>\n

We also restored and transformed existing pieces, looking for ways to give them a new purpose within the space.<\/p>\n

Because for me, design doesn\u2019t always mean buying something new.\n\nVery often, it means looking at what we already have in a different way.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the details that bring a space to life<\/h3>\n

Once the functional side had been resolved, it was time to work on all those small elements that make a space stop being simply functional and start developing its own personality.<\/p>\n

Lighting, plants, textiles, decorative objects, signage and restored pieces were gradually introduced until everything came together as a cohesive whole.<\/p>\n

At Antojicos, we wanted to create a caf\u00e9 that felt welcoming, pleasant and distinctive.\n\nA place with a story of its own.\n\nAnd precisely for that reason, we weren\u2019t looking for everything to be perfect.\n\nWe wanted texture, wood, small imperfections and pieces with a lived-in feel.<\/p>\n

From the process to the final result<\/h3>\n

The photographs of the process show a part of the project that usually remains hidden behind the finished result.<\/p>\n

Protected walls, materials, tools, paint, dismantled furniture and many hours of work.<\/p>\n

Because behind a finished space there is much more than a beautiful photograph.
\nThere are decisions, trials, changes and solutions that gradually shape the project.<\/p>\n

And that is precisely what I enjoy most about my work:
\nseeing an idea take shape until it becomes a real space.<\/p>\n

Antojicos, a space with its own identity<\/h3>\n

The final result combines functionality, aesthetics and personality, making the most of the available resources and giving some of the existing elements in the caf\u00e9 a new lease of life.<\/p>\n

Antojicos has become a more organised, welcoming space, consistent with the image we wanted to convey.<\/p>\n

A project in which every decision had a purpose.<\/p>\n

Because in the end, for me, good design isn\u2019t about filling a space with beautiful things, but about making sure everything has a purpose and a sense of place.<\/p>\n
